We’re a small family farm near Holmfirth, home to Miniature Herefords, Highlands and a growing cast of very individual calves. We’re halter-training the youngsters, learning as we go and building a different future for our 29-acre farm.

What if smaller is actually the point?
For years, the direction of farming has often been towards more: more acres, bigger machinery, bigger cattle. That was never going to be our story.
On a small Yorkshire holding, we started asking a different question: what kind of cattle and farming system actually fit the land, the people and the life we want to build?
That question led us to miniature cattle, and to a rather different plan for our farm.

A Miniature Hereford isn’t a baby cow kept
small for photographs. It is Hereford cattle bred for a smaller frame.
They caught our attention because their
scale, character and the way they fit our farm made sense to us. Rocky, our
adult Miniature Hereford bull, stands around 3ft 10in tall.
Our herd also includes three-quarter
Miniature Herefords, Highlands and some much-loved crosses — so every profile
tells you exactly who you’re meeting.
